Independent presidential candidate organic environmentalist Nicanor Perlas III on Saturday allayed fears of food shortage amid the damaging drought brought about by the so-called El Niño phenomenon, even as farmlands from north to south of the country have started drying up due to intense heat.
He, however, said drought is bringing damage to farmlands because the government has failed to educate farmers on proper ways to address it.
